The campus strengthens collaboration with universities in the Asia-Pacific region

University representatives visit centers in the Philippines, Vietnam, China and Australia

Academic and institutional representatives of La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull have traveled to different Asian countries to consolidate the relationship of the campus with several university centers and establish collaboration, within the framework of the internationalization strategy of La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull to promote the growth of students in global skills.

The trip is carried out with the objective of promoting exchanges, stays and study trips, initiatives that are an essential part of the students' university education to become valuable professionals with values in an interconnected world.

In addition, the visit of campus representatives to other La Salle universities serves to consolidate relationships within a global network such as the International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU), while the visit to universities in Vietnam, China and Australia is an opportunity to open new ways of cooperation and consolidate alliances with other prestigious centers.

Representing La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull were Christopher Kennett, Dean of the International Faculty of Commerce and Digital Economy; Víctor Alves, International Relations Officer; and Nina Hofmann, Head of External Relations & General Management Office.

Throughout the trip the following universities have been visited:

  • La Salle Manila: The meeting has served to strengthen the exchange relationships of students, workers, professors and researchers. Currently, at La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull there are two professors from La Salle Manila studying the Master's Degree in Integrated Architecture Project who are also assistant professors on campus.
  • La Salle Dasmariñas: It is a university recognized for its work in sustainability, for the School of Digital Arts and Computer Science and for the School of History. The visit has allowed the exchange of students and researchers to be promoted.
  • La Salle Saint Benilde: On this campus there is a School of Digital Arts well known for its work, along with the social innovation and entrepreneurship program. The meetings have been an opportunity to explore avenues for student exchange and increase the relationship between both centers.
  • RMIT University Vietnam: The Dean of FICEDLS, Christopher Kennett, has shared ideas with this important Australian institution based in Vietnam for future study tours, lines of research, relationships with faculty and how to link La Salle Technova, the innovation park from La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull, with its new incubator for social startups.
  • University of Electronic Science and Technology of China y Communication University of China (CUC): On the campuses of these two universities there has been talk of joint projects in the areas of animation, digital arts, computing, engineering and business, as well as opportunities for international student exchange, relationships between teachers, joint programs and collaboration through summer programs. Through collaborative efforts, we work to transform knowledge into solutions that impact society, enriching the educational journey of students.
  • APAIE | Asia-Pacific Association for Internacional Education: Between March 4 and 8, the campus was present at the APAIE fair | Asia-Pacific Association for International Education. Representatives of La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull have contacted institutions committed to promoting international education and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region.

The trip has concluded with several successful meetings and the possibility of establishing agreements with new university partners, in addition to being a tool to continue working on technological and humanistic education with a global approach.
