The subjects listed below are part of the Online Postgraduate Course in Environmental Acoustics (PAM). This Postgraduate course provides the theoretical basis on the concepts that are later developed in practical exercises on cases of noise pollution. Cases exposed from field measurements, simulations or acoustic prediction models. |
PROPAGATION, MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE - 10 ECTS In this subject you will acquire knowledge to be able to evaluate noise pollution and how to act to minimize its impact. You will also study current regulations for environmental noise management, as well as the use of simulation software to be able to make propagation predictions outdoors. |
NOISE CONTROL IN INDUSTRY AND FACILITIES - 5 ECTS You will work on the theoretical and practical foundations for the prediction and control of noise levels in industries and the influence of this noise on the health of workers. You will also discuss the concept of acoustic power and how to measure it. |
FUNDAMENTALS OF VIBRATIONS - 5 ECTS You will know the vibratory systems (simple), degrees of freedom of the systems, where mechanical vibrations exert an undesirable influence, both on the health of workers, as well as on facilities and activities or creating an acoustic impact above what the legislation. |
INTERNSHIP IN ENVIRONMENTAL ACOUSTICS - 5 ECTS You will become familiar with the instrumentation, measurement equipment and measurement procedures to evaluate environmental contamination. Likewise, you will practice working on real reports, where the results and conclusions of these measurements are collected. |
WORK IN ENVIRONMENTAL ACOUSTICS - 5 ECTS You must present a real case of machine noise: Study, evaluation and reduction of acoustic impact, where you will put into practice all the knowledge acquired in the theoretical field and present a solution for the case study. This work corresponds to the Final Postgraduate Work of the PAM. |
